Family Assistance Frequently Asked Questions
How many times can the insured person apply for these guarantees in the same year?
The insured person will be able to benefit from the Family Assistance guarantees as many times as he/she needs it, always complying with the limits established in each of the guarantees.
If several members of the policy are hospitalised, immobilised or deceased, are the guarantees cumulative?
They are not cumulative. The service is provided in the family home and given that all the members insured in a policy must reside in the same home, the needs would be covered, whether one or more of the insured persons are in a situation of need.
For how long is each of the guarantees provided?
At the time of requesting the service, the insured person must answer a brief questionnaire referring to the incident that has occurred. Based on these answers, a medical team will carry out an assessment taking into account, among others, the degree of autonomy of the insured person, the characteristics of the home or the number of members of the family unit, factors that will determine both the type of service required and the number of hours of the same.
Is it possible to request an ambulance through this service?
Any assistance of a medical nature is excluded from the coverage of the Family Assistance supplement.
Does the guarantee on the delivery of medicines include the cost of the medicines?
No, the cost of the medicines will be paid by the insured person and must be paid when the medicines are delivered to the insured person's home.
If the convalescence is the result of an accident abroad, are you entitled to the service?
Yes, as long as the service is provided at the insured person's home in Spain.
Does the guarantee for the transfer of a family member for the care of elderly dependants apply when the transfer is made from abroad?
No, this guarantee only covers transfers to and from destinations within Spanish territory.
If the insured person does not have an adult to accompany him/her to a relative's home, must the children go alone in the accompanying transfer guarantee for children under 16 years of age or disabled children?
No, in this case the insurer will appoint a person to accompany your minor children.
