It is a supplement that is intended to function as a complementary health care aid for elderly people who need more specific attention.

Target audience:
  • Any person over 60 years of age who is familiar with the product and wants to take it out as a complement to another Sanitas product.
  • The decision-maker and policyholder could be a Sanitas policyholder who has an elderly person in his care and wants to give him the opportunity to access the Sanitas benefits that he, as a customer, already enjoys.
  • Clients of residential homes or day care centres who come into contact with the product in one of their stays and are interested in complementing a Sanitas product with the services of Sanitas Más Vital.

Senior Programme

Target:
  • This is a personalised programme of telephone contacts, created to help clients care for, prevent and understand their health. In this way they can manage their illness or improve their quality of life.
  • The programme is managed by specialised professionals: nurses and psychologists, who will accompany and guide clients throughout the programme, closely following their case.
Benefits:
  • It will be staffed by a nurse and a psychologist with extensive professional experience.
  • You will receive regular calls from both to monitor your progress.
  • You can contact them whenever you need to by phone, they will call you back so that it costs the customer nothing.

Senior Family Assistance

This service provides the insured person with the qualified, age-specific help he/she may need in the event of an unforeseen situation such as those listed below:
  • Being hospitalised for more than 48 hours.
  • Staying at home for more than 5 days due to convalescence.
  • Death.
Benefits:
  • Support in basic household chores: home helper to perform the usual household chores.
  • Care of dependent elderly people:
    • Sending an assistant to your home to take care of you.
    • Transfer of a family member to their home (plane, train or cab).
    • Transferring them to a relative’s home (plane, train or cab).
  • Delivery of medicines to your home. The insured person is responsible for paying the cost of the medicines on delivery.
  • Pet care for pets with a maximum stay of one month in a pet boarding house (plus home collection and delivery).
  • Personal assistance: dispatch of a personal assistance assistant to care for the insured, apart from household chores (support in hygiene, personal grooming, shower and/or bath, clothing, footwear and food; transfers, transfers and mobilization within the home; help with food intake and taking prescribed medication; basic care for incontinent persons…).
  • Accompaniment to medical appointments: sending an assistant to accompany the insured person to medical appointments within a radius of 20 km from their home. For this purpose, a taxi service will be provided for the outward and return journeys.
  • Accompaniment during hospitalisation: sending a specialised assistant to accompany the insured person during the nights of hospitalisation.
N GUARANTEE DESCRIPTION LIMITATIONS EXCLUSIONS
1 Home help for basic housework. Sending an assistant to the insured person’s home to help with basic household chores (cleaning, washing and ironing, meal preparation, etc.). Up to a maximum of 30h, at a rate of at least 2h/day from the 1st day of the event.
Within the maximum period of 1 months.
2 Care of domestic animals. Transport and/or accommodation of pets (dogs or cats). From the 1st day.
Maximum 1 months.
3 Drug delivery. Search for and delivery of medicines to the insured person’s location. Maximum 2 times/week. For a maximum of 2 weeks from the first day. Cost of medicines excluded.
4 Accompaniment to medical appointments. Sending an assistant to accompany the insured person to medical appointments within a radius of 20 km from their home. For this purpose, a taxi service will be provided for the outward and return journeys. Maximum 3 times/year.
5 Quiet nights. Dispatch of an assistant to accompany the insured person during the nights of hospitalisation, for periods of more than 48 hours. Maximum 3 nights/year, at the rate of a maximum of 8h/night.
6 Personal assistance. Sending a personal assistance assistant to attend to the insured person, apart from domestic tasks, when he/she needs personal care (help with hygiene, personal grooming, showering and/or bathing; personal help with clothing, footwear and food; transfers, transfers and mobilization within the home; help with eating; help with taking medication prescribed by the health center; basic care for incontinent people; promotion of hygiene and tidiness). Up to a maximum of 30h, at a rate of at least 2h/day from the 1st day of the event.
Within the maximum period of 1 months.
Complementary to guarantee 1, the hours of both are not cumulative.
7 Home help for the care of first-degree relatives in the ascending line. Dispatch of a home help assistant to care for first-degree ascendants who live in the same home as the Insured and are in a situation of dependency. Up to a maximum of 30h, at a rate of at least 2h/day from the 1st day of the event.
Within the maximum period of 1 months.
Excluded with guarantee 8 and 9.
8 Relocation of a family member to care for relatives in the ascending line. Transfer to the insured person’s home by regular airline (tourist class), train (1st class) or taxi of the relative designated by the insured person for the care of ascendants in the 1st degree who live in the same home and are in a situation of dependency. Only in Spain. Excluded with guarantee 7 and 9.
9 Transfer of ascendants. Return ticket to the home of the family member designated by the insured person for ascendants in the 1st degree who live in the same home and are in a situation of dependency. Only in Spain. Excluded with guarantee 7 and 8.

Sanitas Senior Services

Independently of the insured coverage, as a client of this product, clients will have access to the following services provided by Sanitas.


COUNSELLING SERVICE
  • Guidance: geriatric assessment of the elderly person’s situation (valued at ≈500€).
  • Advice on the best service according to the elderly person’s needs
  • Accompaniment of the elderly
ASSISTANCE SERVICE
  • Rehabilitation / Preventive physiotherapy / gymnastics: 1 session/week (group classes)
SOCIABILITY SERVICE
  • 1 day a week in our Day Centres. Attendance at workshops (animal therapy, music therapy…) and centre activities.
  • Invitation to parties at Sanitas Day Centres and Residences.
  • Invitation to excursions (1/month).
BENEFITS
  • Waiting list preference.
  • €100 / month discount in any of the Sanitas residences or €50 / month discount in the day centres.

What are the hiring conditions?

  • Grace Period: No grace period (when signing up or renewing the contract).
  • Hiring: Individual.
  • Recruitment at discharge or renewal.
  • Age of recruitment: from the age of 60 and upwards and without age limit.
  • Age of permanence: Not limit.
  • Without risk underwriting.
