The pharmacy and home services addon includes the following coverage:

Pharmacy reimbursement 50%: up to €300 per insured person/year.
Delivery of medicines: 6 deliveries per insured person/year.
Analysis at home: 2 analyses per insured person/year.
Physio at home: 6 sessions per insured person/year.

Why add this coverage to your policy?

This addon is designed for elderly people who do not leave the house much, people with illnesses who have to stay at home, people who are recovering from an accident or surgery and cannot move. In addition to reducing pharmacy costs, we send it to your home. In addition, we will do the tests in your own home and you will have a physiotherapist service at your home as well.

What does it cover?

Pharmacy reimbursement 50%: up to €300 per insured person/year.

This covers the reimbursement of the cost of those medicines whose marketing is authorised by the competent public body in the matter, and provided that they are necessary for the treatment of pathologies suffered by the Insured and which are covered by this policy. Only standardised magistral formulae and officinal preparations detailed in the National Formulary of the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) are included, expressly excluding phytotherapies and parapharmacy.

Delivery of medicines: 6 deliveries per insured person/year.

SANITAS shall be responsible for collecting the medicines and sending them to the place where the Insured is located up to a maximum of 6 times per Insured during the annual period of the insurance policy.

The medicine shall be delivered within 3 hours from the time it is requested at the place where the Insured is located within Spanish territory. The medicine must be authorised for sale in Spain and the Insured must pay the corresponding amount at the time of delivery.

Analysis at home: 2 analyses per insured person/year.

Reimbursement of the home analysis service and the travel of laboratory personnel to the home or place where the Insured is located for the extraction of the sample to be analysed.

The Insured may choose any laboratory legally authorised to carry out the analysis:

If the laboratory is authorised to provide the ‘Home Analysis’ service, the Insured will not have to pay any amount for the provision of the service.
If the laboratory is not authorised to provide the ‘Home Analysis’ service, the Insured will pay the corresponding amount for the provision of the service and may request SANITAS to reimburse the travel expenses incurred by the laboratory staff.

Physio at home: 6 sessions per insured person/year.

SANITAS will pay for the location, dispatch and cost of a physiotherapist at the Insured’s place of residence or place of work, within Spanish territory, for the therapies that have been prescribed by their doctor.

What drugs are included in the reimbursement?

It includes the reimbursement of the amount of those drugs whose sale is authorized by the government, provided that they are necessary for the treatment of pathologies suffered by the insured and that they are covered by their health care policy.

Are long-term treatment medications included in this addon?

Yes, as long as they meet the requirements described above and the refund request is processed correctly.

Is a doctor's prescription necessary?

A prescription from a medical practitioner will always be necessary to verify that it is a prescribed prescription.

Do the prescriptions have to be in the name of each insured?

Yes, the doctor must be requested to indicate the name of the insured on each prescription.

When can you request to unsubscribe from the add-on?

The insured can request cancellation at the time of renewal of his policy.

Where can I request the shipment of medicines to my home?

The Insured may request this service in the area reserved for the client called “MI SANITAS” which can be accessed through the website www.sanitas.es and send the medical prescription previously sent to him/her by the SANITAS physician by electronic means.

You may also request this service by calling 91 353 63 48.

In this case the provider designated by SANITAS to provide this service will pick up the original prescription at the Insured's home.

Do the medications have to be prescribed by a Sanitas doctor in order to claim reimbursement?

No, prescriptions from any doctor are accepted, whether or not they are from the table, including those from Social Security.

Can I use it outside of Spain?

No, only covers in Spain.

How does home physical therapy work?

SANITAS will pay for the location, dispatch and cost of a physiotherapist at the place of residence or work center of the Insured Party, within the Spanish territory, for the therapies that have been prescribed by the Insured Party's physician.

This coverage is limited to 6 one-hour sessions per Insured and per year. The Insured Party shall provide such medical reports and tests as may be required by the physiotherapist for the correct organization of the sessions.

How to request the reimbursement of the home analysis?

In order to request reimbursement, the Insured Party must provide an invoice justifying the payment where the amount corresponding to the analytical determinations and the travel of the laboratory personnel to the place agreed upon with the Insured Party is duly itemized, as well as any other documentation that SANITAS considers necessary to prove the appropriateness of the reimbursement under the insured coverage.
